The Basics

Q:Which internet browsers do you support?

A: BookMob supports the latest versions of most popular browsers. These include Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

Q:Which schools can buy from BookMob?

A: Our service is offered to students all across Canada, regardless of which College or University you attend. We want everyone to feel empowered to save!

Q:Am I required to register before placing an order?

A: Yes, you must register with BookMob to place an order through the site. It is completely free of charge, and you have the added benefit of being able to log in to “My Account” to track orders, review rental history and so much more. Remember, you can browse our site freely to search for your textbooks without the need to register. When you are ready to order, create an account and enjoy the ride.

Q:OK, so how do I search for my textbook?

A: Simple. Very simple. Go ahead and key in the author, ISBN, or title of your textbook into our conveniently located search bars. You will almost instantly be greeted with a selection of books matching your search terms. With hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from, you are sure to find the title you’re looking for.

Q:Are these the same books I can find in my school’s bookstore?

A: You bet. We aim to provide you with all relevant textbook details during your search (author, title, edition, ISBN etc.) so that you are absolutely positive that the book you need is the one that arrives at your door. It is our policy not to ship International Editions of any of our textbooks. In the unlikely event you receive an international version, please contact us immediately and we will get a replacement shipped out to you.
Please note that supplemental materials such as CDs, study guides or access codes are not guaranteed to be included with your rental.

Q:What is the condition of your used books?

A: Our used textbooks range in quality from brand new to gently used. We always strive to make sure we keep an inventory of books that are in great condition, and that you will be proud to read. BookMob employs quality assurance standards so that you do not receive textbooks with excessive damage and wear that renders the book unusable in any way.

Q:My book came with this handy online access code, will this work?

A: Due to the nature of this service, our used textbooks may come with online access codes, however they are not guaranteed to work. Another student may have previously used this code, limiting your ability to take advantage of any resources associated with it.

Q:Are there any membership fees?

A: Here at BookMob, you will not be charged a membership fee when browsing or renting from the site. Students have a tough enough time staying ahead as it is, the last thing we want to do is add to the stress.

Q:Is the information I submit safe and secure?

A: Absolutely. Your private and billing information is secured at all times with up to 256 bit encryption. For credit card data, we employ a process called “Tokenization”, which essentially enables us to store all of your personal credit card details on our payment processor's secured server. They are Level 1 PCI DSS certified, you can be sure that your information is being protected with the highest standards.

Q:What if I forget my password?

A: Should you need to reset your password, click here and submit your email to obtain a new password.

Q:Do you accept orders via phone?

A: We recommend processing your order through our website for pricing and security reasons. However, feel free to contact us if you need some assistance.

Q:Do you ship internationally?

A: At this time, we are only able to ship to Canadian addresses.

Q:What if I receive a damaged or incorrect textbook?

A: We truly apologize if your order is damaged or incorrect in any way. Please contact Customer Service as soon as possible if you wish to receive a replacement book.
Should you wish to return the book for a refund, visit the “My Account” section and select “Return for Refund” next to the appropriate book. Choose “Order is damaged” as your reason for return. You will be sent a prepaid Return Label which must be used to return the book. Please ensure that the book is properly packaged to avoid any further damages.

Q:Is return shipping on the house?

A: You bet. If you decide to rent your books from BookMob, we will not charge you a penny to return your book at the end of your rental period. Refer to our "Terms of Use" policy for details on return shipping in the event you are returning your books for a refund.

Q:If I choose Check payment, how long will it take to arrive?

A: Though checks will often arrive in 3-4 business days once payment has been processed, they can require up to 5-10 business days in some instances. As a result, this method of payment will always be slower than other options, including PayPal and BookMob Credit.
