Spin 'N Win Slot Game

The thought of 3 reel, one pay line slots normally conjures up images of very basic games from the 1990s and beforehand. So it would seem that Amaya's Spin 'N Win would fall into the same category since it's also a 3 reel slot machine with just one pay line.

However, as you'll read below, Spin 'N Win does have several features that help it break the mold of typical classic slots.

But are some unique features enough to make this online slot playable today? Or is this another antique that online casinos should retire?

Along with our expert review, you will also find a free version of the Spin 'N Win slot machine below. You can try playing this version for free so it will help you decide whether or not you want to play this game for real money or not.

Overview

The name Spin 'N Win actually has a double meaning because you spin the reels, and this game carries a Wheel of Fortune type theme.

Unfortunately, you won't get to spin a wheel at any point like in the actual Wheel of Fortune slots. But we do have to say that Spin 'N Win really goes all out to set up the game show angle.

The background features a lit up stage with two multi colored wheels behind the slots reels. You'll also see a hostess off to the right side who serves in this game's Vanna White role.

Overall, we think that Spin 'N Win's background does a good job of differentiating it from the more bland 3 reel slots out there.

To begin playing, you need to bet either 1, 2, or 3 coins. You can also choose a coin value worth between $0.01 and $5.00.

Even if you're only playing for one cent per spin, we strongly recommend that you play all three coins because this makes you eligible for the jackpot and other features that we'll discuss later. Given that you can win everything the game has to offer for just $0.03 per spin, this is a very cheap game to play.

The symbols in this slot are of your basic 3 reel variety, consisting of cash, 7s, and single, double, and triple BARs. Considering how much we liked the game show setup, these symbols are a bit of a disappointment because they're used in pretty much 95% of 3 reel slot machines.

Whenever you hit a winning combination, the reels light up in a dazzling display.

One small annoyance we noticed when looking at symbols in the pay table is that we couldn't figure out how to get off the pay table. The Return to Game button is near the right hand corner, but its colorful design makes it blend in with the rest of the special symbols around it.

Return to Player Percentage

A far greater concern is that Spin 'N Win's return to player is only 90.0%. This is unacceptable for a land based slot machine, let alone the online slots world where RTP usually hovers around 95%.

Special Features

For a 3 reel game, Spin 'N Win actually has a good variety of special features.

The 5 times pay symbol is wild and substitutes for all other symbols except the Spin 'N Win wheel and Spin symbol. 5 times pay also comes with a 5x multiplier, meaning it both helps you form wins and increases them as well.

If the 5 Times Pay symbol appears alongside the Spin 'N Win wheel and another symbol, you receive a 25x pay line win.

If the Spin symbol appears on the pay line during a 3 coin bet, you earn a bonus spin. However, if you only bet 1 or 2 coins, the spin symbol merely results in a 5 or 10 coin payout, respectively. So this is your first incentive to bet 3 coins on every spin.

Your second incentive is that you can only win the top overall jackpot when 3 Spin 'N Win wheels appear on the pay line on a 3 coin wager. If you only bet 1 or 2 coins, you'll earn 2,000 or 4,000 coins respectively with 3 Spin 'N Win wheels.

Comparison to Triple Spin 'N Win

In 2015, Amaya decided to release an updated sequel called Triple Spin 'N Win.

This game features 5 reels and 10 pay lines, and you must bet 30 coins on every pay line. You can also adjust the coin size from $0.01 to $0.25, making the minimum bet worth $0.30 and the max wager worth $75.00 per spin.

Unlike in the original game, we don't see any incentive to bet more than the minimum.

Besides more reels and betting options, Triple Spin 'N Win offers far better graphics and more detailed symbols. You'll also notice that the hostess has been removed to make way for the two extra reels.

This slot stays true to the original by offering several interesting features. For one, getting the free spin symbol on the 1st and 5th reels earns you 3 free spins that come with a 3x multiplier.

You'll also see gold and silver scatter symbols, which both multiply payouts by 5x for 3 symbols, 20x for 4 symbols, and 50x for 5 symbols, when appearing by themselves. If you get a mixture of gold and silver scatters, then your payouts are multiplied 2x for 3 symbols, 4x for 4 symbols, and 15x for 5 symbols.

One huge upgrade in Triple Spin 'N Win slots is you can trigger a second screen bonus round by getting the bonus symbol on reels 1, 2, and 3.

This takes you to a Wheel of Fortune style wheel, and you must pick one of 4 arrows on the side of the wheel. If your arrow stops on a number, you receive that specific payout and the bonus round ends.

However, if your arrow stops on a star, you move to the next wheel where prizes are multiplied 5x. Assuming your arrow stops on a number, again, you receive that prize. But if you land on another star, you move to the third wheel, where the largest prizes await.

In certain aspects, the sequel isn't inherently better than Spin 'N Win because the original does have some very likeable qualities. But we have to say that Triple Spin 'N Win is an upgrade when you consider the superior graphics and second screen bonus round.

One other factor that definitely goes in Triple Spin 'N Win's favor is its return to player is 95.0%, which places it more in line with other online slots.

Conclusion

If we pit Spin 'N Win against other 3 reel slots based on features and atmosphere alone, we'd place it near the top. It can also hold its own against many online 5 reel slot machines.

The background and special features combine to make this a pretty fun slot that will see you rack up some big pay outs from time to time. Another bonus is that you have access to all the features for just 3 cents per spin, which is a change from 5 reel slot machines like Triple Spin 'N Win, where you must risk more to play.

However, players who like using multiple pay lines to win more often per spin may get frustrated with Spin 'N Win. It is, after all, a one pay line slot, meaning you don't win very frequently.

But by far the biggest reason to avoid Spin 'N Win is the 90% RTP.

The return to player percentage in this game almost places it in the category of Vegas airport slots, which are stingy to say the least. If you decide to play Spin 'N Win anyways, we suggest that you stick to the 3 cent minimum or play for free so that you don't expose much of your bankroll to this poor RTP.
